Maria Clark is an Anglo-French performer and visual artist. Her installations, videos and actions use her own body as her main medium and are concerned with the problematics of gender, frontiers and categories (mental, physical, geographical).
Territories, lines (of separation or infinite), in-between, immobility, obstacles, stranglehold, are recurring themes of her work. She often explores the body and its details (forms, organs, symmetry), reproduced parts of it (faces); the double of herself, miss clark, a life-size rag doll, takes part in some of her creations.
She also develops reflexions concerning her profession as life model, by means of theoretical texts and stories.
She works and lives in Paris.

Her work has been exposed at National Gallery (Prague-Czech Republic), International Biennial of Performing Arts BLURRR & Zaz festival (Israël), Lec Lec Tic Gallery (Noumea-New Caledonia), Rencontres internationales Paris-Berlin-Madrid (New cinéma & Contemporary Art). In Paris in several festivals and galleries; and in Burgundi at CRANE, Angoulême (Inton'action), Cahors (Les Rencontres d'art contemporain), Toulouse (Rencontre Paroles et corps d'immigration), at LaMétive in Creuse…
