Maria Clark is an Anglo-French artist. Her installations, videos and actions frequently use her own body as her main medium and adopt a topographic angle - territories, lines, in-between, obstacles, fetters, immobilism are recurring themes of her work.
The "insular body" (her main theme of most recent years), containing and contained, the envelope (skin, shell), parts and whole, with the question of gender participate in her ontological field of vision. The double of herself, miss clark, a life-size rag doll, takes part in some of her créations. She also develops reflexions concerning her profession as a art model, by means of theoretical texts and narratives.
She works and lives in Paris.
Her work has been exposed in France and abroad.
